Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade:
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil until well combined.
- Marinate the Chicken:
- Place the chicken pieces in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.
- Preheat the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (approximately 400°F or 200°C).
- Grill the Chicken:
- Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Add Vegetables (Optional):
- If using vegetables, add them to the grill during the last few minutes of cooking to allow them to become tender and slightly charred.
- Rest the Chicken:
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve:
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy with your favorite sides!
